Assignment on john garang of sudan

1. Who is John Garang de Mabior?
john was a government army officer in Africa. john was sent to go "quell mutiny of 500 southern who were giving oders to go to north". He fought for more than 20 years. The war officially ended and john was appointed first vice-president. John Garang died 3 weeks later in a helicopter crash.

2. Who are the Dinka people of Sudan?
The dinka group is a group that lived in the southern sudan.
They used cattle for there butter.They used body art to brush there teeth and blood sucking ticks. They used cattle for what they were and food.
3.WHAT IS THE SPLM/A?
splm/a stands for sudan people liberation movement army. Resumption of the conflict in 1983, southern sudan has been a battlefield. sudan is grounded in religious conflict between differing culture and language.

4. Describe the incidents,events, and developments of the genocide in sudan?
The incidents that happened in the genocide was the SPLA was the human rights abuse. there was confusion on central issues such as whether the SPLA was fighting for independence. The SPLA has changed over alot of years .

5.pan-Afrikanism is the unity of diffrent Afrikan people and diffrent Afrikan nations.How would this type of unity benfit sudan?
I think that this could help the people in sudan because, it could help them stop go back in to war. It also helps them unity among there people. then the sudan people could not judged people for what there religions are.

THE CONGO HOMEWORK

1. What events led to the outbreak of war in the DR Congo?
The events led to the out break because when the rwanda war came about it had spread across congo. The rwanda invaded the Kivus to track down the remaining genocidaires. They killed hundreds and thousands of others. At least eight other countries had came involved.  Another chapter in a bloody saga that could have ended long ago.

2.How many have died in this war? Over what time frame has the deaths taken place? What countries and ethnic groups are involved?
5 million people died congolese conflict . most people died from not having any access to food. they also died from being killed or health care. this all happen in the last 10 years.
3. What do you think can happen to stop the war/genocide in Congo?
I think that barack obama can stop it. I think that if they agree on stuff then maybe they would get along. But I would be mad if somebody came over and start shooting up my town. But we still can't slove it with violence. So maybe if they start careing about one another then maybe they won't have that problem.

assigniment: Rhawanda

what factors led to the genocide in rwanda in 1994?
The rhawanda president  plane got shot down. Above kigali airport on april 6 1994. The french judge has blamed current rhawanda presidet. some of his close associates for carrying out the rocket attack.
what was the time fame of the 1994 genocide and how many people died?
This happened on april 6,1994.800,000 people were killed. The hutu went to jail.

what were some of the after effects of the genocide?
A multi-ethnic government was set up ,with  a hutu. The pair later fell out "bizimungu was jailed on charges of inciting ethnic violence.
